More fun than......

Post by madgamer2 »

listening to all the gripes, complaints,be patient appeals and other sundry remarks about the arrival and price of AE (will I have to mortgage the house) will be perhaps then reading all the interesting things after it is released.
I seem to recall an old wargame axiom about the longer we wait for a particular game the more we expect from it. Just look what happened when MOO 3 finally hit the market... what a grand disappointment for most of us.
soas the time draws near (cross fingers) the reactions will be perhaps grander than the expansion itself.

That seems to be the #1 point of discussion on the forum. I like to think it will be released at some point and really exists and is not just a plaything for the developers LOL.
I say this because the fun following its alleged release will be quite a verbal show, perhaps more interesting than the game.
I have spent more time reading the forum than playing the game and have now gotten to the point where I don't play at all just read the gorum. when and if it comes out I will have to see what is to be done...play?......read forum?......perhaps both.

Ya you need to become in inmate at a prison that has unrestricted internet usage to be able to get through even a bit of that WitP forum.  I plan to do it when I retire which is probably like 40 years from now.

Thanks! I didn't know if it was "Area Effect" or EA spelled backwards.

Everything I've seen about it looks good to me! So I think there'll be at least one satisfied customer. [:)]

I didn't think it would be out by the end of the summer. I thought they were still playing catch up-checking and finishing things off. I don't think its near release. I don't think it'll be the disappointment MOO3 was but there will be problems[;)] You can only read about it so much(including AAR's). I will buy it though when its finally release later this year.[;)]

You might want to pop in to the World in Flames forum and give some similar advice.

No expansion, just the game itself. Everyone and their dog howling for it to be released, etc etc. Just thought this advice would be good for them as well. Don't hurry something complex, otherwise you might not like what you get (thinks of all the wargames that have been rushed and were full of bugs, not finished, etc).

Their taking there time on both WiF and AE. So hopefully they'll be the games that we hope for. I don't really hover in either forum. I do read the interesting stuff and move on. You can read the same stuff over and over for so long including AAR's until your tired of the same output, day end and day out.

So I keep myself busy with other games or projects. [;)] Thinking about buying the European war at decision games. I think its $60.00.[:)] Now that one should keep me busy for awhile.

I dunno, stud, the excitement looks to be pretty much over. But, pass the corn anyway, hah?

So... is this a thread complaining about the complaining in the AE forum? [:'(]
