How to edit EXE files

Post by showboat1 »

How can you edit .exe files? I've been wanting to try to build some stuff on my own but other than using Mika's and Bear's editors I'm not sure how to go about it. Haven't wanted tot ry anything without getting some pointers first first. Any help would be appreciated.

Sorry, can't be done.

You will need the origonal soruce code and a good compiler/decompiler to attempt this. Plus, some coding experence can't hurt...

And, Mika(sp) probally signed some sort of doc that says he won't share what source code he has.

Actually, Mika uses a disassembler to peak into the EXE. That's why he knows what all the calculations are in PACWAR. It's possible to change already existing values in the EXE with a hex editor, such as LCU sizes, airfield sizes, combat formulas etc but one cannot add new things to the EXE.
Coming second is nothing more than being the first loser...
