Novel Idea: Teaching Tool using AI

World in Flames is the computer version of Australian Design Group classic board game. World In Flames is a highly detailed game covering the both Europe and Pacific Theaters of Operations during World War II. If you want grand strategy this game is for you.

Novel Idea: Teaching Tool using AI

Post by Snydly »

How's this for a curious idea and an additional way for people to learn the game and what is possible.

Let the AI play itself. That would mean letting an AI Axis play an AI Allies and watch the moves and situations present themselves. Not only would it test the AI to a very high level and allow the developer to make adjustments as needed, but it would help show newer players what is possible in the game hopefully. [:)]

** Come home ... crack a beer, start up MWiF. AI Axis plays AI Ally. Watch the game ... stop the game to check a couple stacks ... continue ... watch Axis mow over Poland and France in impecable fashion by J/A 1940 ... then see what happens next ** [:D]
Looking forward to playing my favorite board game WIF on the computer.

I suggested an AI vs AI mode as a learning aid years ago. AFAIK Steve isn't going to do it, at least for release 1.

That is the way a lot of us tested our AOE2 and other rts maps/scenarios to see how well they worked or not...
