Hi, I'm hoping someone can verify the difference in Radar equipment used in the Nemo mod...

ASD Radar VS Nav Radar - ASD helps find enemy ships - right? Nav Radar helps the bomber in getting to/from the target?

And MAD Radar - that's just for Depth Charge attacks vs Subs - right?

ASD was an airborne search radar used to detect ships. It was also occasionally able to detect periscopes.

A nav radar is simply that. It is used for navigation purposes. A navigation radar had a shorter range and was useful for plotting coastlines.

MAD was not a radar. It detects changes in the earth's magnetic field caused by the presence of ferrous based materials such as iron and steel. It was orginally developed to help locate oil fields. It has an extremely short range. In WWII, that range was generally less than 200 feet. MAD is extremely sensitive and requires that the system be recompensated everytime a a major aircraft component such as an engine was changed. This was to cancel out the influence on the system of the aircraft's magnetic field.
