Just heard the boat carrying the manuals was sunk with great loss of manuals 100 miles off the coast of California. Your celibacy is still celibate dude. [;)]

That was the Allied boat. Last report of the Japanese boat had it north of Pearl. The commander, feeling that the journey all the way to the Home Islands was simply too long, is thinking of simply sending the whole lot aloft and jettisoning it somewhere near battleship row to see what carnage would be wrought by such an unprovoked action. Kido Butai, although powerful, was a raiding force, and this is exactly how the Japanese understood its usage. 'Shattered Sword'

Oh Dear God! I just had a terrible thought. What if the printing contractor used the US Postal Service to deliver the manuals??[X(]

Better than UPS... for some reason they keep saying that they can't find my house, even though there are six inch numbers on the wall outside the door!

Canoerebel, after even more thought, it is clearer than ever. It is ok to start playing again. As a matter of fact, it is important that you do so. For many reasons. But just go ahead, pull up the screen, enter into that happy place as you begin to ponder which side to choose, which scenario to play, what strategies are available. That happy, contented feeling as you loose yourself in the world you are about to create. Knowing that you are now master of your own destiny. The cares and concerns of the supposed real world will fall away. Come back, come back to the place you belong. It awaits you.

Ahh, Steppenwolf. I was about 10 when that song came out.
Whippersnapper. Oh, well, down to stems and seeds again...

Ah, the memories of a fully mis-spent youth...I was in college, and Steppenwolf was required listening - along with about seven dozen other good groups then.

And then there was the Strawberry Alarm Clock. Made me break up with a girl, that band did. She dared to put it back on my old AM radio when I about broke the thing getting it off.... Oh, the pain.

The USPS, as bad as it is, is far and away better than the postal system in Brazil.  I'm lucky if a registered piece of mail makes it from Brazil to the US as the last 3 haven't.

That being said I hear that a printer in Rio subcontracted the manuals and the workers there don't show up on Mondays and Fridays and the rest of the time go to the beach after lunch.  [8D]

I never thought that doing an AAR would be so time consuming and difficult.

Dear Diary,

On day 88 of my celibacy, I am scoffing at the poor crack addicts constantly checking the forums for some sign - any sign - that AE will be released.  A sense of inevitability has enveloped me - I have this feeling of certainty that AE will not be released before expiration of my celibacy period, which I think is around November 10.  It's just one of those feelings you get sometime, like that occasional burst of certainty that the wadded up paper you're about to throw will with certainty bounce off the wall and into the kitchen trash can...and it does.

Tomorrow, I'm heading off for a four-day, 40-mile backpacking trip on the Appalachian Trail.  This time I won't lay awake in my sleeping bag wondering how I'm going to repay John III for ravishing my carriers, or thinking up a plan to leapfrog the next obvious target to really gain strategic surprise on my poor opponent.  No, this time my mind will be full of the wonders of nature, like the cacophonous "Eee Eee Eee/Ahh Ahh Ahh" calling of the katydids (last year I learned from some Italian backpackers that there are no such nightime critters in Europe, so they were rather amazed).

Yes, I'll gambol down the trial with a mind untethered to and unfettered by WitP.

The few. The proud.  The celibate!

We all know what the last guy who claimed to be hiking the trail did. The vow of celibacy (Non-WiTP) may end real fast[:D]

Oh, wait. I thought this was the John Dos Passos seminar. Apparently I was mistaken. Can someone direct me?
