Revise Some Troop Icons Please!

Post by Possum »

Ok, I just had a look at the screen shots.
And I notice that you are still using that awfull turret for coast defence guns.
Could you please replace it with the propper Standard symbol, so it is line with the other Standard Symbols (the Standard Symbol fo coastal artillery is a Lozenge with a dot in the center.)
Also Coulld you please use a Spanner for the Base Forces.
That way you could tell at a glace who are engineeres and who are Base Forces. (the Spanner is again the Standard Symbol for a Base Force.)
What would also be nice is if you could give the SeeBee's their propper Troop icon Symbol, (Engineer with anchor superimpsed), and the Aviation Engineer Batallions had an Engineer symbol with a Heavy line along the Top too.
Thank You.
"We're having a war, and we want you to come!"
So the pig began to whistle and to pound on a drum.
"We'll give you a gun, and we'll give you a hat!"
And the pig began to whistle when they told the piggies that.

I completely agree with Possum, after translating "spanner" into "wrench" for my dismally ugly American pedestrian consciousness.

I will now proceed to entangle the entire area
Put my faith in the people
And the people let me down.
So, I turned the other way,
And I carry on anyhow.

A very good point.

I know what a spanner is, but according to FM 101-5-1 the spanner / wrench symbol is for MAINTENANCE units.

where did you find the symbols anyway? Are they on a recnet screen shot? Which one??

For simplicity's sake, all the unit symbols should either be standardized military symbol graphics or all be little pictographs, not a mixture, but better yet is to allow players to choose and switch via a utility menu command. :)
Still playing PacWar (but no so much anymore)...

BTW, if you are not happy with the symbols, you can try to modify them since they are not hardcoded.

Ex: in UV, just take a look at button6A & Button6J in the ART folder
