As far as I can tell - the patch caused protectorates to never build new troops. Protectorates are pretty much worthless unless they have troops to start with or are needed for a supply base.
You still get half their cash income though don't you?

Hello Dab,
I've played a couple of games with v1.09 both as Spain and Russia and in both cases their proterates built units (Cav & Inf). It happened several years in a row as well. Not sure if we are doing something differently but for me it seemed to be working ok.

Carl you are right.
I just ran through as Spain up to the April turn and Kingdom of Naples did levy troops. I guess the other game I was playing, I just didn't have any protectorates that built anything.

RE: Danish Anyone? 1792 Denmark
I am going to PM and email guctony, as I haven't heard from him since before I asked everyone to confirm they wanted to play.
Hopefully, he turns up soon. How long do we want to give him to do so? I would say maybe 48-72 hours from now OR 24 hours after his last long-on? He might have forgotten to check in.
If he is AWOL, I think we have several people waiting in the wings.

I have had an idea to help deal with our missing people. Building on Dab's idea, I say everyone makes a post on the Game Thread at the beginning (deadmeat, and aprezto can edit theirs clean)
In these first post, each person can post their status something like below:
Last Sent Turn: 3
Expected turnaround time: 48 hours
Special: Going on vacation Aug 8-10 (or whatever)
Each person can edit their entry to be current. That way, we have a place to look to see what your status is.
For Dab, he can do the same + add a list of whose turns he is waiting on. I am pretty sure he already planned to do that.
If we do the above, we avoid having 20+ pages of "turn 5 sent" etc. and we could use the remainder of the Game Thread as a kind of open After Action Report, where players can post in-game comments like "The King of Denmark is proud to announce our alliance with the United States" or whatever. If that works out, we can ask the moderator to shift the thread to the After Action forum.
Thoughts?

If I understand what you are saying correctly it would seem to be a very good idea. To confirm my understanding are you basically saying the first 10 posts in the other thread you have set up would be for specific purposes? 1st post as it exists for player information, 2nd post for Spain to update of player turn-in status and then in the next 8 posts each of us players would have one post where we could post/revise our personal info such as future absence as well as that players public game information/pronouincements/announcements & declarations?
It sure seems like it would save on wading through a lot of individual posts.

Just FYI, when I installed the All Generals Mod it did not work correctly until I changed the name of the three downloaded files in the new folder to match the standard file names in the standard scenario folder. It seemed to work ok after that. Am I correct in that when we get the initial turn from France we will not have to do anything regarding the Mod? The necessary changes will have already been done by France when he sets up the game.

RE: Danish Anyone? 1792 Denmark
Carl,
Did you download the All General's Mod or the 1792 Denmark All Generals mod?
EVERYONE make sure you download the 1792 Denmark All Generals from evwalt in the Mods and Scenerios thread not NOT the All Generals mode from Russian Guard.
Russian Guard's mod is NOT designed to work with Denmark as a player.
If you go to the 1792 Denmark All Generals mod and follow the instructions, you should not need to change any names.
Carl, I think you downloaded the Russian' Guard's All Generals mod. Did you create a seperate scenerio for 1792 Denmark All Generals or replace the files in the 1792 Denmark scenerio?

Guctony has appeared!
Guctony-- No problem with the lag, that is one reason we were getting time zone info.
Go to Mods and Scenerios, download 1792 Denmark All Generals mod. Once we confirm everyone has downloaded and is ready, YOU (Guctony) will create a game using the stats in the 1st post of the 1792 Denmark All Generals (Danish Anyone?) thread, essentially, the following:
Scenerio: Mod Scenerio 1792 Denmark, All Generals (on Mods and Scenerios thread)
Game Length - 23 years
Economy - Advanced
Difficulty - Bonaparte (15% march attrition)
Combat Difficulty - Standard
Victory Conditions - Highest Glory
You then email it to all other players. Everyone (but SPAIN) does their turns and emails them to Spain. (Dab). Dab then combined the turns, does his own, and emails out the results. What that point forward, Spain sends out the turns and we send them back to him.

OK so it seems we are ready to start then after France sends the starting file to everybody?

Dab--
Good thinking on getting Deadmeat's post deleted, so Spain (and the turn status) can have the top spot
I reviewed the 1792 Denmark All Generals mod and see it has been downloaded 6 times. As I think Carl downloaded the wrong one, we should be almost straight.
Hopefully, by this time tomorrow, we will be rolling!
I would think Guctony can go ahead and create the game and send out the June 1792 turn (as I believe Carl will be ok by tonight (US time--maybe 7-8 hours from now)?
To Carl, I'll make sure to be on tonight if you are having problems finding/setting up the mod, though I don't think you should have any problems.
If Carl DOES have the right mod, someone out there still needs to download the correct one [:-]

RE: Danish Anyone? 1792 Denmark
Looks like we are aleady losing control of the 1792 Danish All Generals Thread. Everyone hussle over there and do a post.
For those who have already posted, lets use everyone's INITIAL post for game related matters (ie. turn in, availability, etc.) That way, everyone has 1 place to look for the availabilty of people/turns, etc.
Once everyone has 1 post at the beginning (ENGLAND--Aprezto, PRUSSIA--AndrewKurtz, still need one), we can start on the Announcements.
Hopefully, we can get Franck's deleted (I dropped him a PM asking him to request it). Once everyone has a first post, we can ask others post normally also.
