Cavalry charging Artillery ??

Post by ithuriel2 »

[:-] Something I noticed in CoG also - how is it the AI cavalry, in single player detailed combat can charge artillery even though the artillery are well supported by adjacent units (infantry and cavalry) ?
According to the manual it is not possible - I certainly cannot do it. It is damn irritating. Anyone else noticed this anamoly ?

I have never seen this, both in my personal play and many months of play-testing. Not sure why that would be happening. Are you certain that the supporting Inf or Cav was in good order and adjacent to both the Art and attacking unit?

Likewise.

Its very easy to line up in a such a way that the gun isnt supported from directly in "front" of the unit.

It might not be understood that to be supported the supporting infantry has to be adjacent to the attacking enemy unit, not just the guns themselves.

Ah ha... did not realise the supporting units (which are in good order and adjacent) needed to be adjacent to the attacking enemy units. Thanks guys.
