Standardization of Logos/Photos

Post by KG Erwin »

Shaun mentioned this as a later part of the historical ballpark project, and I'm all for it. However, there are alternative player photos/ballpark photos/team logos for many seasons, so some decisions on standardization will be necessary.

Like many historical simmers, I've simply d/l everything I can find from Padres Fan's site and other sources. My "faces" folder is a combination of several facepacks, and now has some 21,000 pics from the 1870s to the present day.

As for team logos, I place them in different folders. My personal preference is for the png's, specifically the excellent set produced by JSJarvis.

Same goes for the ballpark photos/drawings. There are alternative views for many parks, so which ones will take precedence? I personally prefer the actual photos, where available, and also the brilliant set of painted parks done by Andy Jurinko. Unfortunately, Andy didn't do all 14 "classic parks" of the 40s-50s. There IS one of Sportsman's Park which hasn't yet had the ball trajectories placed on it.
