I have to admit, I'm really very confused by all this . . . is this game going to be a 3d aerial combat sim + campaign game similar to Battle of Britain II: Wings of Glory?

No, this is closer to WITP with a detailed mission planning and air combat system. No plane flying from the joystick. Look at the screenshots.

You command fighter and bomber groups in the strategic war against either Britain or Germany. You plot a day's worth of missions and follow the day's activities. You are more of a Air Marshall than a pilot.

OMG if that were TRUE !!! I made that wish known to Sarge long ago. IMO for this to go to the format as BOB II Wings of Victory would make this the ultimate WWII Strategic Bombing Campaing Game. My old favorite that I cant run any longer was Secret Weapons of the Luftwaffe. Great campaign game there. This game would make that look like pacman. One can only Dream and Hope. [8D]

All of which makes BoB so much more of an amazing game. If only it wasn't so dang HARD!! in those dogfights [:D]

Yes I agree. BOBII WoV is very hard on the tactical level. However I really like the idea of being able to have complete control of all Combat forces, all production and all strategic and tatical response doctrine and then the added bonus of actually being able to fly in the missions. I would like to see BTR upgraded for these reasons. However that would be a gargantuan task for any group to undertake. But one can Hope and Dream [8D]
