Cancel Development?

After I have selected a development in the basic game, how do I cancel it? Thanks.

You cant, unless you order another development and then with a loss of the ressorces for the old development.
 
Alternatively always save your game once the turn is done and reload the savegame

The stupid feeling I had about not being able to find the solution just went away to be transferred to the developers who should have anticipated the need to cancel such an event, thanks for the info. You should always be able to go back on any selection made until the turn is actually processed. Perhaps this will be addressed in a future patch.
