BRISBANE, QLD. C.1944. AERIAL PORT BOW VIEW OF THE LANDING SHIP INFANTRY (LARGE) HMAS MANOORA. LANDING CRAFT VEHICLE PERSONNEL ARE CARRIED IN DAVITS ALONG THE SHIP'S SIDE, IN THE WELL DECK FORWARD, BETWEEN THE BRIDGE AND FUNNEL AND IMMEDIATELY ABAFT THE SUPERSTRUCTURE. AN UNSHIELDED 6 INCH GUN IS MOUNTED AFT. A 3 INCH AA GUN IS MOUNTED ABREAST THE FUNNEL. EIGHT SINGLE 20 MM OERLIKON ANTI AIRCRAFT GUNS ARE MOUNTED BESIDE THE BRIDGE AND ON THE AFTER SUPERSTRUCTURE. TYPE 271 RADAR IS FITTED AT THE BACK OF THE BRIDGE. THE SHIP IS PAINTED IN ALL OVER DARK GREY CAMOUFLAGE SCHEME. (NAVAL HISTORICAL COLLECTION)
