Unit Reaction?

Post by 06 Maestro »

I don't have this game (yet). I am wondering if there is any unit reaction during the inactive player's turn. For instance; is there some sort of reserve setting that would enable one of your units to move during your opponents turn?

Nope.

EDIT: I should have said in response to your question of Reserve Setting... nope.

It's a straight TBS game. Nothing like CoTA. ;-) It's a nice game though.

while it would have been nice to have reaction phase, especially for air or naval units, I don't think it's a big deal.

I'm really enjoying this game. [:)]

Ok back to North Africa

I like it the way it is. I liked it's predecessor RtV because it was simple and fun. This is the same along those lines.

For some reason I got the opinion that air and naval units could intercept. Am I wrong in this or perhaps they only contest in the hex/zone that they are in?
Thanks.

air units definitely intercept, in range

naval action is based on areas, ships need to be present in the area, except during amphibious assault (I think!)

I'm not sure how interception works...but I don't think you can physically interdict a hex (i.e., placing an air unit on standby on a specific hex) during your turn that you think might be attacked in an enemy phase.

I can give you one case of reaction movement by ground troops.

Just happened to save a game after landing a para unit in the D-Day scenario.

Upon reloading, 3 German units attacked and destroyed the airborne unit. [X(]

Only after this was control returned to me, still on turn 1.

I almost hate to ask if this is WAI (working as intended)! [:'(]
