ARGH!!!

Post by Knavey »

I just found out WitP-AE is now a standalone and I was not required to buy WitP to play it!

Why in the world did I buy WitP so many years ago? [&:]

Oh...wait, nevermind. [:D]

Might have had something to do with all those turns I sent out over email.

Back to the waiting. [:'(]

I lost my original download after a house fire, and even with my serial number, order number, credit card number &c &c, Digital River would not allow me to re-download.  So I repurchased WitP in May for ninety-some-odd bucks in expectation of needing it for AE.  Forking ice holes.

Wow, that's interesting to me as I've re downloaded the game at least twice in the years since I originally bought it. Once because I upgraded to a new machine and just a month ago, because I had to re format my HD. All I needed was the last five of the credit card number and my email address.

'Bekommen' is german for 'to get' - hence Nessaja's 'to become'. I don't think he's a cyborg [:)]

[8|] If you're a registered owner of the game with a legitimate serial number, what difference does it make where you get the download from?

It's the not starting again part that seems to be the problem. [:D]

Well, if you make that sort of comment, you make it quite difficult to accept for anybody that you're not a thief who's stolen this game, rather than a "registered owner with a legitimate serial number".

first you complain about having to have WitP to buy AE which was due to the idea that AE would be an expansion but has grown much bigger than that. with a manual almost 3 times as long as WitP it has be come a game of its own. Now your complaining about having not having to buy WitP to get AE.......sometimes I wonder about all of us being cooped up in this forum for so long.....does srange things to the mind.

So? I really don't care what "anybody" thinks. I was pointing out the bittorrent option to the guy who said he'd had to buy the game again because he'd lost his download in a house fire. Obviously, that info is a bit too late for him but if it helps somebody else with the same problem, then I'm glad to have helped.

I'm sure Matrix can look at my account and can see that I'm a "registered owner with a legitimate serial number".

Doesn't matter if you have a legitimate copy, that's effectively endorsing piracy, which is simply theft. Doing that on our public forums is in bad taste and also against the forum rules. Consider yourself warned. The original customer should have spoken with us instead of DR, we could almost certainly have gotten him a link to re-download his own copy.

Erik,

Yes, it was rather foolish of me.  I "misremembered" that all customer service related issues were to be addressed to DR.

Simple solution. Once you D/L it (talking about download purchase here, not bit torrent). Burn it to disc. Store disc in safety deposit box. [:D]

Anytime you need to reinstall, you pop the disc in and away you go. [8D]

Clear skies and tailwinds,
