At the moment, prior to adding destroyers and other smaller units, the BPF looks like this:

CVs Victorious, Indomitable, Formidable, Indefatigable and Implacable
CVLs Colossus and Glory
BBs King George V and Howe
CLs Jamaica, Swiftsure, Glasgow, Cleopatra, Black Prince and Uganda

More to come, obviously...

A pity. You've left out my favorite , HMS Insufferable.[:D]

So, Mike, did you get a look at the turn?

That's pretty unpleasant, Robert. Especially since it's the wrong sort of rodent, and therefore gratuitous...

There's no such thing as the 'wrong sort' of dead rodent. [:'(]

Well, guys, I'm off to bed. Gotta get up a bit early tomorrow to check for AE and shave off a weeks beard. Then get to work early so I can begin checking for AE between meetings. Night all!

I just wanted to note that at 2200 CDT (0300 GMT), there were more than 50 people watching the AE threads...Interest seems high.

Before I sign off, I wanted to ask the collective wisdom of THE THREAD your thoughts on the best books on the war in Burma and Slim's campaign to retake the Malaya.

I have Shore's "Bloody Shambles" series on the air war.  I am nearly finished with book 3.  I have Bayly and Harper's "Forgotten Armies" which I am reading in parallel with the Shore series.  Finally, I have Winton's "The Forgotten Fleet" of which I have only read the first chapter; I am waiting to catch-up in time in the other two books.

Your thoughts?
thanks,
mike
