“The Arsenal” Wild Bill’s Raiders midsummer release is out!

Post by Resisti »

Just to keep you busy till the big September release, we have published three very good scenarios:

you can fight in Korea (first of a series on Task Force Smith), by Redleg;
defend the Fatherland on the Oder river, by Lars Beilecke;
struggle in a wild melee of reckon forces east of Remagen, by Bryan "Marauder" Melvin.
This last one is especially designed to be played against another human opponent.

To get these goodies go to: www.militarygameronline.com/steelpanthers/

And keep looking at us, as we prepare for next release; some advance information?

-Canadian vs. Germans in Italy;
-German vs. USA in the Ardennes;
-a Minicampaign in Mother Russia.

And much more!
So stay tuned....

Newbie question:

Is there a page where I can go to tell me which folders I should install the scenarios into?

Yes I'm a Newbie when it comes to this stuff and could use all the help I can get.

I'm really interested in playing the Remagen scenario.

I can tell you how I download scenarios/maps. There are probably many other ways.

First, I download into the SAVE folder. This is a "safe" place to put scenarios.

Second, determine a number of unused scenario slots (or map slots) and note what they are.

Third, unzip the scenarios I put in the SAVE folder.

Fourth, if some of the scenarios are of the same number as others in the SCEN folder that should NOT be overwritten, renumber them to one of the unused scenario numbers.

Last, I move the unzipped scenarios into the SCEN folder.

The procedure for maps is the same except the folder is MAPS.

Sometimes I review the scenarios in the SCEN folder and either delete them, move them elsewhere to a safe storage area, or
renumber say, the first 100 to something like 500-600.

This entire process takes perhaps 4-5 minutes at most.

Yes...as redleg mentions it works best although it´s still somewhat awkward. I even go as far as using multiple scen folders that i rename (to "Scen") as needed. something like: "Scen_Others", "Scen_Original" or "Scen_Ownprojects", "Scen_Arsenal" ect.

A scen folder swapping application would be a nice addition to the SPWAW toolbox! :) (hint for programmers :D )

CCB...If you have a burner, download scenario(s), in the zip configuration you downloaded "send to" whatever your drive letter is. Then when you want a scenario just copy from the burner to desk top, unzip, renumber, and put in SPWAW SCEN folder....then the best part play it. Saves a lot of room on HD, now if you have a humungeous drive size well follow the previous threads. Good luck
