fatal error

Post by USSLockwood »

Yesterday AE was running fine. Today I get 'Fatal error-1073741819' when I run the game. This error occurs during the startup process. Any ideas?

When exactly does this error happen, can you post a screenshot? Is there any other info?

The error occurs during program start. Windows 7. The only change in the system is the installation of a program called tunebite that I installed last evening.

Thanks!

I'm going to uninstall tunebite. I'll see if that solves the problem.

reinstalling tunebite recreates the problem!  I guess I've narrowed it down...it's a Vista issue [:)]

Interesting, what is Tunebite?

I can confirm by the way that AE works on my Windows 7 RC system in a clean installation.

Tunebite is a video conversion program.

Aha, have you tried renaming the Video folder to "NoVideo" and reinstalling it to see if it lets AE start? Looks like the problem was happening when the intro video was about to play.

I did try remnaming the video file 'remvideo' and the intro 'remintro'. Didn't help. Does it have to be named Novideo?

No No, you rename the FOLDERS to No Video and NO Sound

The Folders Video and Sound are only used by the intro
renaming them will simply have game skip loading
its somethng we have done a long time with WITP itself...

You don't rename any Files in there.

Noise? What Noise? It's sooooo quiet and Peaceful!
