Pain in the Butt

Eagle Day to Bombing of the Reich is a improved and enhanced edition of Talonsoft's older Battle of Britain and Bombing the Reich. This updated version represents the best simulation of the air war over Britain and the strategic bombing campaign over Europe that has ever been made.

well, I on my laptop right now, pain there, can't work from it, and it kind of small to really enjoy at home (okay at work !!!)

overall, my computers seem to last about 2 years now

been expecting something to happen to this one, HD was giving me trouble, bought a 1 TB HD and a 500 Gig, backed up my HD onto both of them, but they wouldn't take as boot drives (so reallying thinking it wasn't the HD, but the computer, couldn't get the bios to open to make the boot changes)

so, if and when I get my new one (they giving me a hassle on the one I ordered) I got almost everything I had on my old computer ready (game and files for EDtBTR were kept on another HD, just in case)

the hassle here is I want to stick with XP, too much stuff I alpha/beta on, and my editors and stuff, just don't work with vista, so that limited my choices

but was able to find a decent one, comes with XP and with Vista (Vista is on a disk for installing, with a back up XP disk) and if Windows 7 works out better, I should be sitting pretty

really, this one looks nice, if they ever agree that I bought it already [&:]

Good to hear you are back on track. I would stick with XP also. I am not a fan of Vista. I hope Windows 7 works better.

kind of more a Rant post, but need to do some Ranting

place my order for a new computer, laid out about 4 different ones, then decided to go wild with what I was working with

found a nice set up, comes with XP, with Vista on a disk, so it can be installed later, and a back up XP disk (for my testing and other stuff I do, I need XP, alot of my stuff, just don't work on Vista)

get the reply that they got my order

then a few minutes later get a reply that they put my order on hold, they suggest I should call this number

call, wait on line for a while, get though, wait, then am told, sorry, we going to hang up, we having some trouble with the phones

go to bed

get home from work the next morning, call the number again, get told the staff is all in a staff meeting

write a nasty Email to customer sevire (makeing sure I did good spelling)

get a phone call back, asking me to call them

get though, they say, they understand I want to know about my order, they just need to check a few items and all should be good

ask for my name
ask if I placed a order for a computer, thursday
ask if my mailing address is still the same as it was in the order

okay, all is well, we will tell them to get to work on your order

?

every day when I get home from work, and before going to work, check on my status, still in production, ship date 7-30 (best guess)

yesterday, I get a email, saying, we are sorry, but there has been a delay, your order will not ship until 8-6

(dogs are still hiding under the couch and bed)

oh well, so much for getting any fun this weekend

get home from work this morning, and got a email saying, your order has shipped, should arrive 8-6

?

paided for overnight shipping, if it shipped I better get it tomorrow !!!!

check the tracker, it is on time for 7-31

I now see that it has been picked up and is on it's way

but first, what was the deal with putting it on hold ? and what they had to check, made no sense at all, did you order a computer ???

then, when it was suppost to ship on the 30th, why send a email saying it is going to be delayed, and then ship it on the 30th ?

all, I know, is it better get here tomorrow, or you guys may be reading about me in the newspapers the day after !!!!!!!

I guess I need to send the local family run computer store I have used for the past 20 years a big thank you card.

Hey, over at the WiTPAE forum they talk about a way to get your quad core running on all cylinders for the game.  Would this do anything for this game, which I'm sure will release tomorrow?

This is based on some investigation I did for a Secret (TM) Matrix Project.

hmmmmmm

since Ryan is a tester of mine, and he posted this on our private forum, I think it is a good bet that it will help

(I haven't tried it yet, but was planning to try it out when my new computer gets here and I am all set up)

((in fact, you beat me to it, I was planning on sticky this for when our game is ready))

oh boy, it is on the truck, and the truck is ready to roll

if I lucky, about 3 hours, if not, 6

ahhhhhhh, I hate waiting

LOL, I got a huge game, I lost the main game with the crash, but I had it also installed on my ext HD, so figured I would try and get it updated, and when everything was up and running, I wouldn't have to wait on updating it

had a bunch of mini patches and what not, about 350 mags worth, then it went to start downloading the main patch, 3.17 Gigs for the patch !!!!

got it downloaded, so thought, well, I could always try it out, click on start, and comes back, you don't have the computer to run this game !!!!

Dang kids computer
