Been working a lot on this scenario lately.
The difficulty with this scenario is to at least try and simulate the ebb & flow of the war. Basicly the mobile part of the war went like this.
june-august 1950 - North Korean invasion drives ROK & US troops down to Pusan corner
september - Inchon invasion and UN troops drive out of the Pusan strognhold.
october - UN invades north korea. China starts to move troops into north korea
november - Chinese full counteroffensive. UN troops driven back
januari 1951- China invades south korea takes seul
february - front stabilized. Failed chinese offensives
march - UN offensive takes back Seul.
april - june - Slow UN advances. Chinese spring offensives fail.
So basicly there is a huge amount of back and forth offensives. It will be diffuclt to simulate.
Also there is the difference in forces. China had excellent infiltration tactics and lots of infanty. UN forces had superior airforce, naval dominance and better equipment.
So far the scale is 1SFT=50-100 men/10 tanks/airplanes etc. Every round 5 days. That would make an june-june campaign 72 rounds long.
So far the scenario includes
Historical OOB (down on regimental level)
Historical reinforcement list
KPA initial surprise event
Weather and seasons
US gears up for war
China gears up for war
Aggressive north korean AI
Screenshot shows the situation on the 30th of June (start of the 2nd round of the game). The KPA forces have captured Seul. Shattered remains are left of the ROK army. So far the AI is acting quite good. X marks the original 38th parallell border
