Guadacanal scenario questions

Hi-Just for the halibut, I brought up this scenario. I took a look at the forces at Luganville going to Catcus.

Hey guys, there's something really wrong here. There is no fuel anywhere near, supplies at Luganville are 45, etc.

Well, from my reading that's about the size of it. In particular Black Shoe Carrier Admiral- Lundstrom, states that at one point shortly after they sailed there was not enough fuel in the THEATER to refuel the carriers. Fletcher was depending on a tanker arriving at Noumea before he needed to refuel. That's cutting it thin.
