Erik,

Herewith dxdiag as requested.

Command line switches used are -dual -altFont -deepColor -fd

Fullscreen used , windowed mode has problems.

Also please see thread "Base mousing graphical glitch" in tech support for screen shot , other peoples views and a suggestion from yourself that unfortunately has not worked.

Ok, first try adding the -dd_def switch please. Second, try removing the -dual switch. Try those in sequence and let me know if either helps. I assume from your post that you already tried setting the process priority to High?

Your sound drivers are from 2007, that's the only driver update I'd suggest at this point.

Erik,

As per other thread your suggestion of -dd_def switch seems to have cured this particular graphics glitch. Will advise if anything adverse occurs.

Many thanks.

Is there a list of switches and what their resulting actions are out there?

Have AMD 3.2 quad with 8 gig of ram on Vista64. I built this because AE was coming and Witp use to bring my laptop to its knees. AE smokes on this! Like 30 second turns...

Props to you guys!

Freeze on combat screen only.
Starting picture of combat is freezed and combat sounds heards, one core is utilized 100%.
Other modes works with good performance.
Both on home and corporate computers.
parameters: -w -deepColor -altFont -dual.
Solution: when combat screen started, go to the Process Explorer (or Task Manager) and set affinity for more than one core, after combat turn it back.
Here is dxdiag from corporate computer.

If you want to use only a core of a multiprocessor system try to use this little program.

http://www.activeplus.com/Products/RunFirst

I have used it with Steel Panthers to eliminate a mouse issue on the bombardament screen.

His use is very simple:

-Put the program in the main game directory
-Create a shortcut on the desktop
-Add to his destination path in properties the name of the witpae exe

(See this example, this is for steel panthers)

"D:\Matrix Games\Steel Panthers World At War\RunFirst .exe" mech.exe

I have the the -cpu2 swith on my laptop with xp pro and witpae run smoothly but if you have troubles try this solution.

Three jet pilot useless things: Sky above you, airstrip behind you and half second ago.

This is a very old thread that was brought to the top of the stack by a spammer.  We built command line switches into the first patch that deal with the multi core issues.  There are now several switches that deal with different problems.

There are actually two multi core issues, one is with certain graphic cards and some DirectX calls (used by AE) and the other is specific to Intel processors.  The first problem can hit either AMD or Intel processor systems.
