Amfreville.

Turn 4, Day 1

729th RGT/ 709th INF DIV vs 507th RGT/ 82nd AB DIV

Not going to post a picture for Amfreville. We are currently in a stalemate position wise. I am happy with what Ive got and Jerry seems happy with what he has left. Once action heats up there again I will post a report from that area. Whats amazing is how much blood was spilled early on there and now its so peaceful. Almost too peaceful really. Scary peaceful I would say! [&:]

Turn 4, Day 1

WN 62/716th INF DIV vs 18th RGT/ 1st INF DIV

As Drill says, "there isnt nothing easy about easy maps", he is so right on that.

At least I only needed one asprin tonite!

Final battle for the day was Easy Red!

Heer top unit - Dog Green

Post by FeurerKrieg »

Although Dog Green has been lost, the limited number of troops provided invaluable time to allow a second line of defense to be setup.

Below is the unit that was probably most critical to holding the map for so long.

Amazing. [&o]

Just think had that lone infantry man not reached his hand out to secure that last flag just as one of your rifle bullets pierced his helmet, they might have another dozen kills on that map. I am having nightmares about that area! [:@]

Shame you cant assign that gun to another BG, because I can tell you right now I'll be gunning for them! [:D]

Gz..

Nice work with the pictures and historical color. I try to add some of that to my WITP AAR, I think it helps connect the game to reality.

Keep up the nice work on the AAR!

Turn 4, Day 1.

WN 20 / 716th INF DIV vs 8th BDE/ 3RD British ID

As June 6th comes to a end for Sword beach, the light now is a lot brighter at the end of the tunnel. Infantry pushed hard all during the day to secure most of the area, setting up a massive tank bombardment for the final push to move inland.

Victory at Troarn

Post by FeurerKrieg »

After fighting against our reserve troops for the better part of the day, the British 5th Para has found out the hard way that there is a price to pay for invading Europe. With the removal of 5th Para, the way is now that much clearer to head west and lend support to our reserve units that are doing their best to slow the advance of the Allied armies.

Three of our self-propelled feldhaubitze with their 105mm guns rained death on the Brits that were already on the run from Pegasus, allowing our infantry to slowly close the pocket until the British unit was shattered and fled. They will likely try to find friendly forces at Merville or Ouistreham.

A couple pics of the gun as well as a shot of our most valuable unit at Troarn in this battle.

Turn 4, Day 1.

WN 29 / 716th INF DIV vs 8th BDE/ 3RD Canadian ID

After failing to hold Juno Beach the German defenders fell back to Tailleville/Taineville. Still a strong force, they dug in and waited to pounce on the 8th arriving off the beaches. Their plan was pretty simple, deny any exit points and do as much damage as possible!

Turn 4, Day 1.

915th RGT/ 352nd INF DIV vs 231st BDE/ 50th British ID

No need to post a picture here. Area is still in a stalemate. I got careless or stupid or just out played really by not committing to a plan of attack or just playing it safe ( I just never could decide what I wanted to do here). It cost me 2 tanks in the end, and little to nothing gained. We had very bad connection and the battle was ended after just 7 minutes.

Brevands:

Night, Day 2

II./6th Fallschirmjager RGT vs 502nd RGT/ 101st AB DIV

6th FJ must be wondering what all the fuss is about. First they come under fire from 501st and just as soon as that battle ends they get the 502nd. No need to post any picture here, all area to the Vierille/St Come Du Mont of the bridge was taken along with middle of the bridge. Without any type of extra support there was no need to waste men trying to get a foothold on the otherside of that bridge at this point. Ive already seen the results of trying first hand!

*************************************************************************

Le Port Brehay:

Night, Day 2.

12th Rgt (4th ID) main task here will be to just keep the germans 1058th tied down and away from St Mere Eglise. This was not much of a battle, just pushed in until my men came under the deadly invisible german fire. Add in a few Ka-Boom sounds from his StuG and you get the picture.
