Figmo and I tried a PBEM game and got stuck. I deleted my steel.prf, saved again, and it worked fine. I mention it just in case...WB

I had a suggestion a while back which would have helped a lot in this case:

"I noticed one more new problem in 4.2: When the security check fails, it displays a window saying something like

Security violation! Player 1 installation corrupt!

Except that in 4.2 that window is visible for only about 10 milliseconds. I had to Start the save for about 10 times until I was sure what it read.

There was a security violation probably because I got back the same PBEM files that I had sent to the opponent. The security check should be more informative about things like these. It should say what fails:

1) wrong player
2) invalid password
3) different exe
4) modified OOBs
5) invalid save

The PBEM security could also have options to not check exe or OOBs, so that it would be easier to upgrade systems and correct OOBs.

I won't mention the compressed secure PBEM in this post."
