Thought that was for AMD only?

"Also if you have a Black Edition AMD quad core you can give it a shot with AMD Overdirve (can be downloaded from amd.com). You can set the priority theere to high...."

Couldn't find anything else I could try!

See post #25 in that thread. The priority setting should be accessible from the Task Manager (Ctrl-Alt-Del) for any process. Just select it and right click on it to set Affinity and Priority.

Ah yes, set high pri and affinity CPU1 and 2 - and that did the trick!
Everything is now running stable without graphic or sound glitches [8D]

Thx for the help Erik, the only problem now is that I'm out of ink for my printer and the manual is on some banana boat near Madang, guess you can't help me with that [;)]

Cheers

Btw: Is there a way to set pri / aff permanent for AE or is this a temp fix I have to manually set each time I start?

Video drivers are from 2008, sound drivers from 2006. Can you please update both as soon as possible and let me know if it makes any difference?

Updated video driver. Here is a screen print.

Please try the -dd_hw command line switch and let me know if it helps with that. I assume your video driver is set entirely to default settings? Was this windowed or full screen mode?

I always run full screen.

With that undocumented switch the game wouldn't even start.

I'll stick with single thread until you guys get things figured out......

Seem to have solved the problem by removing the -deepcolor switch. For me, it seems to be incompatable with the -dual switch.

If i set my Nvidia to default 32 bit color, will that give me the functionality of the deepcolor switch? Not that it matters, I can't see any difference with the deepcolor switch--the map has colors out the wazoo and they look just fine either way.

As an aside, -deepcolor only works with full screen mode.
You need exclusive access to the screen to set the color mode.
