Loosing the A0 unit

Post by AC »

In the scenario "Vebber To The Rescue - Uman Area" Vebber and his staff were dispersed by a Soviet Rata on Turn 2. The scenario ended with a moderate victory, but I got 0 points, and - weirdest thing of all - my overall campaign score dropped from 92 to 87.
One could suppose that there's a penalty for loosing your A0 unit.
Anyone out there who could confirm or explain this?
Thanks

Victory points

Post by blueduck »

This same thing just happened to me when playing a scenario in Operation Watchtower. I failed to evacuate the HQ unit in a Wild Bill scenario, and evn though I achieved a moderate victory(I think it was the first time I ever actually beat one of his battles)I received zero points for the victory. I don't think my campaign points went lower though.

Gentlemen, there are several identified scoring problems in the 7.1 build concerning Mega's. Unfortunately they won't be fixed as SPWAW repairs are complete, please just try to enjoy them as best as possible and base your accomplishments on what you actually achieve and not what the computer says. Losing an A0 will have devistating results at the end of battle (you've lost your field CC) look at it as possibly losing a Bradley, Ike, Patton, Macarthur(spelling) and the effects this will have.

In this one battle of MCLV I didn't lose my A0 unit , but it did take a few casualties. In the AAR, I got a stern lecture on risking my A0 and it said I was getting a new A0 until they healed. IIRC. It definitely convinced me not to use them so agressively.

Heheh..yea, i've learned not to drive Vebber in first position of column...did go straight to ambush and no matter how hard i tried suppress enemy unit, it did kill Vebber with his turn... *ouch*
