Strategy/Observations

Philippines will be overrun by the end of January.
DEI have yet to be invaded except for the recent landings at Kendari.
The Japanese land forces continue to move towards Singapore.
Burma continues to see the daily bombing run on Rangoon. AVG has been trying their best.
Forces in India are on the move to strategic positions. TOP SECRET
Australian forces will be redeployed for defense of Port Moresby and Noumea.
Port Morseby has been reinforced by the 7th Australian BGE. The 2nd Australian Cav BDE is on the way from Brisbane.
The West Coast will continue to ship forces and material.
Repairs will continue for ships at Pearl Harbor.
Refit all eligible ships for future engagements.

KB is alive and well, there are 3 KBs in the area. [X(] My main focus will be Port Morseby and Burma. I pullout units to fall back to Pegu. A task force is on its way from Cape Town with Artillery support. Various Indian units are moving towards Calcutta with the respects for the garrisons. I am pulling units back to Port Morseby. The Coy units at Rabaul, Wau, etc. As for Australia, moving the units from out of the way places to Sydney and Brisbane. Pulled all capital ships back Derby. Lost a few cruisers when KBs showed up in the Java Sea. At least Boise is still around. [:'(]

I'll send another save from 2/18/42. I've since restarted a new game and have put all my subs on auto ops which has helped the AI keep more boats afloat. I was shredding the IJN all over the DEI... and no, reliable USN torpedoes is not on.

Also, as for digging in at Pegu. I did the same in my AI game and the IJA rolled over me in 2-3 days. I had just about every unit south of Mandalay in Pegu too, plus 3 extra Indian BDEs I shipped into Rangoon to help. This next game, I think I will try the jungle hex SE of Pegu.

Interesting AAR's.  Your AI is progressing a LOT faster than mine currently is.  I'm about 3 weeks ahead of you in time (end of 1/42) and the AI is still trying to take Borneo and Celebes from me.  I've been VERY aggressive with ABDA; I sent multiple CL/DD TF's to northern Borneo and blew up several invasion TF's, ambushed Zuiho and her lone escort off the coast of Macassar, sank 3 CA's and damaged Ryujo.   MTB's off of Batavia torpedoed Kinu and Wildebeests torpedoed Kongo, which appears to have defused any invasion attempts from Singapore. 
 
I'm still contesting Kendari, Tarakan and Zamboanga (base on NW Borneo); I think I sank the supply TF for the first two landings; the LCU's are now just sitting there.   Balikpapan is still mine but it's a ruined port; the KB has pounded it into scrap metal and sunk all my ships that were there for support and repair. 
 
For some reason KB never tests Java though; ABDA is still based out of Surabaya but not attacked.  I did get some hits on a DD by a PT boat ambush off of Balikpapan on the KB, and a Dutch SS had Kaga dead to rights but the torpedoes didn't explode.  I've noticed that the KB only has 3 CV's in it though; Akagi, Kaga and a Soryu class; that worries me a LOT because I don't know where the Cranes plus the other Soryu currently are.
 
In the Central Pacific I've retaken Canton, Baker, Ndeni and Luganville, invaded Makin and reinforced Noumea and a few other places (sorry Andy, I'm not telling).  The AI has landed at Milne Bay and I've got forces en route to deal with them; if I can find the units I'll send more to Port Moresby but I'm scraping the barrel bottom right now in that area.
