Question

Yo, this got missed in my other thread. Thanks for any help.

Is there a way, through sandbox or whatever, to set up historical teams from different years in the same association?

Absolutely. In Sandbox mode, you can select any players (or teams) from any year. You can import individual players or entire teams.

If need be, you can go back and change team names, regions, etc. after you've imported all the players. Set the parameters for your association, import your players, then have fun!

Is it possible, though, for example, to import like the '69 Mets and keep them as one team and then import the '77 Yankees and do the same?

Certainly. In Sandbox Mode you are telling the game what teams (or players) to put into your association. You're limited only by your own imagination.

When you're importing, you have a drop down menu at the bottom of the screen that allows you to import and assign to a team at the same time.

Maybe I'm dense but I don't see how to set up an association with historical teams from different years. I see how to change team names or choose from different regions but that's it. Is there a step-by-step explanation somewhere on how to do this?

Set up your association in sandbox mode. You'll need to identify in advance how many teams you'll use and in what division/league alignment.

Select all your association's parameters, such as finances, DH, modern closer, roster size. This is done over two different screens. You'll be prompted for team names and regions. You can select the ones you'll use here or easily change them later.

After you've chosen all of your assn. parameters, you're taken to an Association Menu Screen. In the top left part of the screen, click on the link labled "Import Real Players and Teams".

Next, you'll see drop down menus for importing players and teams. For your particular desire, use the drop down menu for "TEAM". Click on your team of choice and watch all of the players appear in the middle of your screen.

At the bottom of the screen, in the "Team Import Options" box, select the team you'll import the players onto. You can also re-name the team here, if desired. Next, click on "Import All Listed Players". If you do these last two steps out of order, all of the players will end up in the association as free agents.

Repeat these two steps until you've filled all the teams. Don't forget to change the team names and regions (via each team's home page). DO NOT use generic stadiums if you're looking for reality. Import the actual stadiums, or at least modify the altitudes and fences to reality.

Lastly, have fun ! ! !
