205 Bomb Group / 205 BG Command ??

Hey Guys [8D]

Man I am getting real tired of looking at these 100 bombers sitting in the southern Med with nothing to do while I am in major micromanagement of bomber units in Sicily. I sure could use these aircraft. So how the heck to I grab them and put them to use in the major campaign in Italy? There is only one base I see that can operate 205 Bomber Command units. Can I transfer them to Med Command or 12th AF somehow?

On a similar note, I have a question about captuerd Airfields. Southern Italy has fallen and there are several bases for both 12th AF and Med Command. After many days several of the fields show no kind of damage remaining on them. So what does the situation need to be such that I can actually move units to them? I would really like to move many of my units closer to the front so I can pound away.

when the 15th Airforce comes in, you also get more bases for 205 group, until then you can either bomb Italy from NA, or more more to the East and target Greece

airfields taken over, or newly built, will be a darker color/damaged, once ready, will turn into a white airfield

some times you need to get to a higher zoom to tell if they are still building/repairing

If you want to follow historical usage, once 205 Group moved to the Foggia plain, it conducted a major night bombing campaign against the Romanian oil infrastructure and, what was its single most important contribution to the war, a very effective mining campaign along the Danube, as well as various attacks on airfields and industry in Austria. Sadly the mining campaign is not directly replicable in BTR, but there are various ports along the Danube which you can bomb.

Yeah I saw some possibilities with all the BC AC just sitting way down south so that is what prompted my original post. Ther are several places around the Med that I could be using them. I am still a relative novice in this game. But have fun learning. Looking forward to the release of the Matrix game.

sorry kind of behind, most times, until the new airfields come in, I send the 205 out to the east, across from Greece, and pound the ports and main city

until you can move back to Italy
