The Yahagi, Yamato and 4 DD's went down in that battle. I wonder if any of the others were show in the movie

Did you notice one of the movie reviewers lamenting the fact that the movie producers got the date wrong for the PH attack?  Apparently it says the attack was on Dec 8th.  Gee, I would think that a competent reviewer would know that in Tokyo, the attack did happen on December 8, at about 2 or 3 in the morning, I think.
 
Hmmmmm.  Maybe that's why we always used Zulu time in the service.  Ya think?

From an ex military man...and one, of the very few, who ever completed the old SPI War in the Pacific, as the Japanese, against two very good opponents, and lost in the summer of  '45, no less...these are good.   Nice to see the Japanese portrayed properly...rather than as the dog meat most US movies have done.  Worth watching, just for that.

Yes, I love that it shows that naval battles are not bloodless ranged battles of steel between machines, but moments of chaos in which real sailors and soldiers lose lives and limbs as well.
