Deception & Surprise

Post by Stryder »

Is it possible to deceive either the AI or other human opponents (or even have the AI surprise you) by building up your offensive units behind (not too far) the front lines? and perhaps building deception units in areas where you don't intend to attack

I know that the Soviets and the Germans were often able to achieve local superiority in numbers by attacking where it was not expected throughout the war..of course, the USSR went from terrible to excellent at it while the Germans did quite well at it until Kursk.....their last offensive and the last time they held the initiative..

Yes, usually units behind the front line are not visible. There is also different detection level for every unit, depending on which more or less info is available.

Good idea, probably it will be implemented some day. So far we have enough work to balance out Detection/Recon mechanisms without deception units. [;)]
