DUD Torps

Post by ltfightr »

Im my games so far the IJN's torps are duding at a rate comparable to the USN. That just does not seem right and is getting frustrating. I can understand if that is being used a a generic miss but I would rather them say miss than torpedo failed to detonate.

Yeah, well... The torp dud rates are 80% for the Mk 14, and 10% for the most common IJN sub torp. We've had plenty of people complaining that the IJN scores too many victories with their torps...

Bad luck. In my game (AI historical, scen 1, jap side) my subs have very high hit rate compared to the allies ones...

Bad luck is certainly my luck. I have seen the other rants.

In Guad as Japanese my subs have had two or three duds, but have managed to account for all THREE USN CVs escorting the Watchtower amphib assault. I won't complain about that! [:D]

From what I have seen so far, your rates seem accurate in the game.

In the Aleutian Island scenario I also have had a very, very high dud rate. Including "Hit!But no explosion" messages. I don't think its a fluke.
