Pack Mules & Gun Teams

What are their uses?

I am currently using them as transports. Gun teams can carry 2 squads of infantry I think, or a gun. But they are pretty slow... Aren't there some halftracks or transports like trucks that are faster yet cheaper or of the same price?

Pack Mules are pretty cheap though...

They can be used to draw fire I think, but they die pretty quickly to provide you with any decent recon info.

Mules don't get immobilized, plus they don't loose as much speed over rough terrain. And IIRC they can swim. No need for barges to cross a river.
Best of all, there's no bullseye painted on top. Good if you're Germany vs USA 44 and later.

IIRC some Gun Teams pack a large amount of smoke dischargers (not just one as on a tank). That can be really handy in a bug-out situation.

I was wrong. Gun teams don't have smoke ammo or dischargers anymore (in 7.1) Oh well.
