Hello gentlemen,
I am taking my turn tonight to spend with my Dad at the hospice facility. He is getting very weak now and his passing will be a blessing as it is getting harder for the nurses to keep him comfortable. They believe that the cancer is probably spreading into his lower spine by the way he is responding. He can no longer see, swallow or speak. He last ate on Friday and drank any water on Saturday. All I can do now is talk to him and pray with him now, It seems to calm him. Thanks again for all your prayers and support. You just don't know how comforting it is for me.

I lost my grandfather (yes, not my father, so certainly more easily) 4 years ago from a general cancer. The last three days he suffered so much (even with morphines) that it was a pain for everyone around him; and he usually said that he would be soon be "free" of this pain; and of course everyone understood and had hard time listenning this, but knowing that this was true. At one point, when pain is too much, there is only one way to be free. This is hard to stand, to ear, or to admit, but it seems true.
Then , there is the sadness of the disapearing, wich must be overcome; but after a while, you will have the good memories.
I give you all my wishes in this challange.
Edit : damned, it is so hard to express a idea on such a topic in another language; it is not easy to explain in my main language, but having to translate, it seems so ankward !
