I was duped!!!

I was hoping for a mega eastern front game in the same league as WitP The Struggle Against Japan.
The title tricked me into believing this game was it.
I guess the waiting for a modernized version of War In Russia is still on.

Indeed, the title is somewhat misleading.

Well I loved both the Panzer General series as well as the original War In The East, so as Eric says, play the one while waiting for the other! [:)]

World War II strategy game

Yeah I see things like this and think "strategic level game" and that's not the case. All games have their inherent strategy and tactics. So why promote the obvious? It's not like anyone wants a game without strategy and tactics.

Could we see games advertised as tactical level, operational level, strategic level or grand strategic level?? I suppose that opens another can of worms as many folks have slightly different definitions for which is which, but at least it would be a little more informative at first glance.

There are three campaigns - the initial German Barbarossa offensive up to the gates of Moscow, the Soviet counteroffensive and the 1942 German Case Blue offensive. In addition, there are several scenarios covering famous Eastern Front battles/operations such as Zitadelle, Wintergewitter, the Fall of Berlin, Kharkov 1943.

A full map and scenario editor is included.

This sounds pretty good. Map and counters looked good too. There should be enough playing time in this to fill a few weeks or months.
