Rotation size and closer usage

Post by Orcin »

I want to start a league in 1946 and play it through the 1970's. Will I get an option to change from 4-man rotations with no closer to 5-man rotations & modern closer, or is that fixed at league creation time? I can't find an option to change that for the whole league.

If it cannot be changed (between seasons perhaps?), should I create the league with 5-man rotations and modern closer usage? During the 1940's and 1950's, I can choose 4-man rotations for every individual team and not assign a closer.

I'm hoping someone has done this and can give me some guidance on what works best. Thanks!

As far as I know, the game makes the transitions for you automatically. For example, I started a real player association in 1969, when there were 4-man rotations and no closers. When my association moved to 1970, the game prompted me that in 1970 the league began to use closers and asked if I wanted to make the transition. I don't know about transitioning from 4-man to 5-man rotations, or in the AL no-DH to DH.

I don't believe you'll get any prompting for rotations, but you can easily change each team individually on the roster page.
