Ops report glitch

Post by Speedysteve »

Hi all,

Noticed a couple of 'glitches' in Ops report.

Firstly when airlifting troops from an 'empty' hex it lists the location as the unit name.....in this case Lark Battalion from Lark......

Secondly, when repairs are completed on a ship the next line says " using currently assigned resources at.....". Firstly there's a dspace at the start of the line, no capital letter and not really sure what this sentence is trying to say?

For the repairs, are you talking about below? If so, it is not saying that repairs are complete. It is saying they can not be completed using the resources available. There is major damage involved and you need to assign the ship to a repair facility that can handle it.

Yes thats it Don. I understand what you're saying but the sentence could be a little clearer?[:)]

Rather than "No additional repairs possible on SSD Executor" and " using currently assigned resources at Pearl Harbor" maybe "all possible repairs completed on SSD Executor with current resources" "additional repair resources needed on SSD Executor"? That way indicating the ship has completed repairs on what it can without additional investment...........

Sorry, you're stuck with Bowen grammar. Changes to sentence structure sit at the bottom of the list of things we can't get to.

When you same 'empty' hex, does that mean a hex without a base or one with a 'dot' base??
[edit]
Found it.
The code is using the 'new base' rather than the 'old base' id.
Looks like it was copied from the ".. transporting to .." area and pasted into the 'from' area but the parameters to the message not updated.

Hi Michael,

In this case an empty hex - no base, dot etc. It's the hex SW of Rabaul.

Ummm, in that case its a wonder it printed anything :)
As it can't label the hex, it probably needs to print the XY location.
I'll add to the next patch list.

No thanks.

I can see what it is doing.

What is actually saying is 'it is transporting Lark from where it was to the new fragment Lark where it now is' rather than saying 'transporting Lark from x,y (or base name)'.

Original code was not making distinction between a hex location and a base in the hex.
