Patch & Policy

Post by P.Hausser »

Hello

I'm considering starting a Full Campaing in AE, but want to check if I got it right, 1st Patch is Game release + 30 days ? and 2nd is game release + 90 days ?

In this case I will obviously wait for the first to come out before I start the game, but wanted to check with you first if I got it right ?

sorry if this already has been anwsered

Me too

It would be nice to wait for that .

CAP seems to need some work and surface combat seems a bit too deadly

I am also wondering if I will go with two day turns but I read somewhere the turns maybe made switchable -

I did 2 weeks of testing against the AI, also I am now 7 turns in a PBEM game (Allied), and I think (no make that I’m convinced) that the Cap is working ok. The thing about Zero’s is that the Jap player has to use their altitude maneuver advantage against the Allied fighters. Also if you attach your Zero’s to bomber escort they won’t do that well. Like all high-performance fighter your Zero’s need freedom of movement, therefore use them offensively on sweeps.

I heard that the patch will not require a restart however will there be dramtic changes they will effect previous gameplay? I am waiting to start a game fearing that it will be the latter.

& not restarting isn't going to bring my subs back to life that sank due to not returning to base on time.

Call me crazy, and I'll say it again, I am going to wait until after patch 2 to start a serious game against the AI. By then the WITP-AE community will have had a chance to fairly well scrub the data, and the developers will have worked out many of kinks (current and anticipated) that are and have been exposed here on the forum.

Also, despite the repeated chants of several of the developers that the patches will not require a restart by our PBEM brothers, I think that a good campaign game will be irreparably screwed up by the database errors alone, not to mention the kinks in play that they may have already experienced that they would have to live with for the duration of their war.
