PT Boat changes?

Post by Genda »

Just started a new campaign game 01) with the new patch downloaded today. American and Dutch PT boat task forces have only a max reaction range of 1. The preformed British PT boat force at Hong Kong has a react range of 6. When I disband the British force and reform another PT TF, the react range on the Brit PTs goes down to 1. Sounds like a bug.

Check again. Another thread mentions this also, but states the Brit MTBs start the scenario in an SC TF. So the error appears to be in the scenario file, NOT a game bug.

The Brit PT boats at Hong Kong do start the game in a SC TF and their react range is correctly 0-6. If you disband that TF and then reform it, the react range maximum is now 1, not 6.

In the release notes for the patch:

27. Gameplay Change: The React range for PT boat TFs has been restricted so that it may not be set higher than 1 hex.

Not sure about the range when they are grouped with other ships though.

Good catch, that's obviously a leftover they just missed doing the patch. Please post it in the bug forum and they might even fix it in time for the official patch (pretty simple change with zero potential downside)

Edit: Nevermind! Somebody already posted this bug there.
