Japanese Industry Questions

Post by Xargun »

This is a question for the dev team mostly.

1. In what order does the game process industry ? As in HI first, then LI, then Aircraft, etc...

2. Also, does it do all HI at once, then all Light Industry - or does it do all industry at one base, then the next ? I'm guessing it does them in numerical order according to their base # right ?

3. Why does Light industry Stockpile ? All it does is create supply.

I can't answer the first two, but I can answer the third - it is simply an oversight (it is the default behaviour for industry output to accumulate). We can look at doing something about it, but it should be harmless.

If it stockpiles, then you would never want to expand it since it could use the stockpiled points to make additional supplies if the resources were available, right?

I was thinking to expand Bangkok light industry to make suppy there. This is the only reason i can think of to have a need to expand light industry for local suppy that are not in japan?

Stockpiled points have already used resources. They don't need more resources, only something to be spent on. In the case of light industry the only possibility is supply, so they should always be expended and not accumulate.

Is that the same with refinery stockpiles ?

Yep, sure is. No reason to store up Refinery points, since you desperately need the fuel, and that is all that a refinery can make. I haven't personally seen refinery or LI stockpile however.

Now that's curious, as several people have posted screen shots showing accrued LI points. You don't see that?

Well, it is December 17th in my PBEM and I already have 19,650 LI stockpiled. Sure would be nice if it kicked it out as supply.

LI points don't really exist. Supposedly, you get them in addition to supply. It's just a vestige of the engine. Low on the priority list to fix (eliminate).

Yeah, the way I understood it that as the LI uses similar programming to HI, and HI points are a 'byproduct' of the Resource + Fuel to Supplies conversion, the same thing happens for LI. The difference is we can use these 'byproduct' HI points for something, but not LI, which is WAD as far as I know.

Just because I haven't seen it doesn't mean it isn't happening. I could have overlooked it or I might not be far enough along for them to accrue.
