1C to Publish Red Orchestra 2: Heroes of Stalingrad
The sequel to Red Orchestra, the leading realism-based multiplayer WWII shooter on the PC, Red Orchestra 2: Heroes of Stalingrad will take the award winning Red Orchestra franchise into the next generation of gaming. Cutting edge graphics and audio built using the Unreal Engine 3, inventive features and streamlined realism will deliver an unrivalled WWII experience.

Red Orchestra 2: Heroes of Stalingrad will focus on the Battle of Stalingrad and the surrounding operations, both German and Russian, from July 1942 to February 1943. The game allows the player to experience one of the most brutal battles in all of human history. The game consists out of two campaigns - the Red Army and German missions. Delivering unrivalled accuracy and attention to detail, along with gritty, vicious combat in multiplayer, co-op and solo modes the game will feature everything from quick, brutal firefights to more intricate and challenging simulation modes.

The developers have built upon their huge success with the last title and have added a slew of new features including:

RO multiplayer taken to new heights: In addition to the award winning Territory gametype from RO, all new gametypes such as Firefight and Countdown add greater diversity, replayability and fun.

Persistent Stats Tracking and Player Progression: Grow in rank, earn medals, improve abilities, and become a Hero - all visible to the complete online gaming community and embedded within the game.

Heroes: Obtain the ultimate goal and become a Hero online. Players with hero status inspire troops around them and cause fear in their enemies. Heroes have access to the best and rarest weapons and equipment, and will stand out visually from the rest of the soldiers.

Stalingrad Campaign: The Stalingrad campaign will feature the multiplayer maps used in a campaign layout recreating the battle for Stalingrad from both the German and Russian sides.

Why is this here????
Life is not a journey to the grave with the intention of arriving safely in a pretty & well preserved body,
but rather to skid in broadside, totally worn out & proclaiming "WOW, what a ride!"

Because he is a Texan and this forum has Heroes of Stalingrad in the title.
Conflict of Heroes "Most games are like checkers or chess and some have dice and cards involved too. This game plays like checkers but you think like chess and the dice and cards can change everything in real time."

If RO2 comes out first, this game can't use the title anymore.
It's a race against time.
Can't Lock 'n Load go to the developers/publishers of RO2 and tell them to change the title?

I have just taken a look at this RO.  It looks to me like another dime-a-dozen 3D Shooter.  You know as well as I do which of these two has the better re-playability.  Myself, I can't get into shooters anymore, haven't been my fancy since Max Payne II.  Maybe Twisted Alice can get me going once every half-decade on it for nostalgia.  But that's about it.

One thing Red Orchestra 2 isn't, is a dime-a-dozen fps. The first Red Orchestra is the most detailed hard-core realistic WWII fps mod, and later game you can buy, ever made. And RO2 is being made from the ground up to be a realistic WWII combat game focused on the battle of Stalingrad and surrounding environs (so they could go into more detail in those areas, as opposed to trying to cover many locations at one time) by the same dedicated group of WWII fans that made the first one, so it's going to be excellent. :)

If you like realistic WWII fps combat, then this will be the game to own. This is the ARMA 2 (aka, the real Operation Flashpoint 3) of WWII combat games. :)

It's not. This is the only WW2 shooter so far that requires you to press a button to cock the bolt action rifle after every shot.
If you forget to do it, you won't be able to shoot. It also models the weight of your magazine. Bullet trajectory is believable.
And a character has several hit locations instead of one (no life bar).

But not a lot of players currently (exept for the newer mods). For a multiplayer-based game the number of loyal fans is important.
