Strange thing with History function

Post by Lunaticus_matrixforum »

Hi Vic,
noted some strange thing in the history and was not sure if this is working as designed. Probably is but still feels strange. Here is the story.

On a far away world the Mercantile Alliance and the Future Foundation are fighting for supremacy of the Solar system. The Future Foundation has sent out a scout to observe the movement of the enemy. As it is it seems the scout is doing a much better job than expected...
Event 1 of the story is the heroic scout being squashed by a large Dreadnought fleet of the Mercantile Alliance:

Indeed I expected this to be the end of the story. The scout has done its duty and reported that there is a strong enemy fleet in this area.

But then the dead scout continues to report that the fleet of the enemy is actually moving towards the lower part of the screen ("South").

And then the already dead scout reports that a second warfleet with a dreadnought is traversing towards the lower left quadrant of the solar system. From the unit names it must be another unit...

And a third warfleet....
Btw I am only posting excerpts. Actually the history shows the whole move of the fleets through the recon zone of the scout.

And they also have some assault ships in tow also moving towards Jupiter or Mars. Hmm I wonder what their purpose is?

All in all it is nice that the scout did provide all of these details but I would have expected the scout to "stop sending" or the recon points it provided to be set to 0 the moment it is killed. So is this working as designed or did I mess up some game settings here?
Many thanks and Best Regards

Its a bit gamey i agree. Basicly what happens is the recon you have at the end of your turn will stay valid untill the start of your next turn.

You could reason that although the game models reality by moving every unit step by step, in reality everything happened at the same time. so the recon sattelite did actually see everybody passing while one of those dreadnoughts killed it.
