creating naval guns

Post by bstarr »

let's say I want to add a 12 inch naval gun to the japanese devises and add it to a fictional ship. How do I make this work with the rearm rules? I know certain guns need certain size ports, but if I create a new gun will the game know what size port the ship needs to be in to rearm/resupply?

That actually shouldn't be a problem. I do suggest copying a similar gun from somewhere in the database, my suggestion is to use entry #1566 12in/50 mk 7 as the one to copy, then you can just adjust the effect, penetration etc. That should make sure you do nothing so that it won't work.

Also you can go here: http://www.navweaps.com/ to get some accurate stats for the various weapons.

Rearm cost for a naval gun is twice its Effect value.
