AE,AR,AS,AD,etc. supply usage.

Post by hbrsvl »

Hi-I think this pertains to all mods, scenarios, etc.

Lets say I have an AD & an AS disabled at Midway, each with supply on board. Also Midway has 5K supply at base.

When a sub(or DD) returns to Midway for replentishment, do the torps come from the base of from the AS or AD?
If from the AS, does a lower supply figure show up for the AS?

If so, how does the AS get a fresh supply? From Midway, or does she have to go back to PH?

Thanks, Hugh Browne

I believe all you have to do is to put your AS or AD into a task force and load up supply from Midway. You don't have to go to Pearl. I've used my AKE's this way...disabled at Lunga then put them into a task force to reload them when needed.

Unless Midway has a HQ there, it won't rearm subs with torpedoes anyway.  The base can't get big enough to rearm them on its own.  An AS with supply on board will rearm a sub, just as an AD will for torpedo carrying surface ships.  All you've got to do is have the ship (with supplies on board) in the port, in a TF or disbanded it won't matter.  If the AS/AD runs out of supply, load it back up and it will continue rearming the subs/DD's; it doesn't "get torpedoes", the supply on board is representative of the torpedoes it is carrying.
