We restarted our game using the new path. I have Replay of the first turn. So time for some strategy[;)]

7th DECEMBER 1941

India/Burma/Malaya

India

All units will be set on Rest while air squadrons will be set to training. I need to send some forces to Karachi to free up 63rd Brigade so it
can be transfered to Burma. I plan to build up forts at potential Japanese landing sites but i hope it will not come to that!![:D]

Burma

I want to keep Burma Road open as long as possible so i need to hold Rangoon. 44th and 45th Indian Brigades will be sent to Rangoon instead of Singapore for the reasons i will explain later. 18th British Division will probably end its jurney here as I dubt they will be able to sail into Singapore. 2 Squadrons of AVG will defend Rangoon and surrundings. Garrisons of Tavoy/Victoria Point/Morgui and Port Blair will be evacuated.

Malaya

Bad news from Force Z it was attacked by Japanese Bombers off Mersing. RAF Bufflos showed up over my ships and downed 10 Nell/Betty bombers but in spite of my efforts 2 Torps have hit Repulse and one hit POW to make matters worse Eng compartments on both ships were heavliy damaged so now their effective speed is 5 knots!!!![:@][:@] System damage is low between 12-22 but Flt is high 44 POW and 80 Repulse[:(] I just hope they can reach Singapore at make some emergency repairs. Every Bufflo in Malaya will fly LR CAP over my ships.
As for Ground i will replace some leaders and i plan to delay japanese advance as long as possible. Alor Setar and Georgetown will be abandoned imiedietly[:)] I will then fall back slowly and bomb pursuing Japanese units. I plan to send one squadron from the AVG to Malaya to boost my Air capability. With hope Tree will think my ships are lightly damaged and will be coutius in advance on Borneo so i will have time to evac remnants of Force Z[:)] If Force Z would be intact i would send 18th Inf Division to Singapore in hope to achive a long siege.

Philippines

Devastating enemy air raids on Clark and Iba Airfields. After the attack the state of USFEAAF is 74 P-40's B&E Fighters + some P-26 and P-35
and 35 B-17 Bombers. B-17's will be evaced to DEI eventualy but i plan to use my Air force agressivly and inflict as heavy losses on the invading japs as possible. Submarines will be send to Patrol Area around Luzon , Formosa and Saigon Area. All merchant ships will escape to DEI while tankers will load as much Fuel as possible to be evaced to Australia. I plan an active defensive strategy on Luzon and this call's for changing many ground troop commanders. PT's will try to harras enemy shipping. I plan to make my stand in Manila so i will try to draw as much supply there as possible

DEI

DEI will be defended by Cruiser Force as Force Z got Clobberd[:(] I will try to maximise the use of Dutch Air force and i will rebase some USAAF units that arrive in Brisbane to Java around 50 P-40's and some Banshees. All ships will be either send to Cape Town or Australia.
I will try to save as much fuel as possible and send it to Darwin and Brisbane. Soreboja will become my main Sub base in the area while some subs will also be based at Darwin. I plan an aggresive sub camapaign. I will try to mine bases on North Borneo around Kuching.

CENTPAC

Pearl Harbor is in Ruines BB's West Virginia and California are laying on the buttom of the harbor. Rest is damaged. Many planes destroyed on Ground. Plan here is to path up those ships and send them to East Cost for Repairs. I plan to use Lexington to ambush Wake Landing force. And then avoid the KB. Enterprise will head north to Midway area. I plan to send troops to places like Canton ASAP and set up fueling bases at Pago-Pago and Palmayra so a fuel line to OZ might be set.


SWPAC

I need to send 41st Division to Numaea ASAP to be able to hold the place. Also some Australian units will be send to PM but i need to react to the things that japs do. Will send CA's Luisville and Pensacola into Gilberts area to intercept jap Landings there:)

I'm not sure why you want to garrison bases in southern Luzon. The japs may hit the beaches before you have a chance to reach the southern tip. And when they land they might land at Atimonan (Lv2 port IIRC just as Naga?) cutting off your troops in the south. So this sounds dangerous.

8th December 1941

Malaya

Repulse is in Truble flt damaged reached 90... but it's only one hex from Singapore so i bet she can make it[;)] I send some RAF bombers to attack enemy ground forces in Kota Bahru. I decided not to bomb the ships as RAF pilot's can't hit a barn with a bomb so maybe they will be more efficient against ground troops. I transfered 1st Squadron of AVG to Malaya and i will try a massive torpedo attack on enemy ships anchored off Kota Bahru tommorow. Dutch subs made 3 attacks off Singora and Kota Bahru but either missed or torpedos turned out Dud's. Both KXI and KXII were damaged by ASW.

Philippines

No further air strikes enemy shipping sighted of northern Luzon. I will try to intercept with 4 DD's. Ground forces moving into position.
PT's are standing by to attack. While subs are taking up their patrol areas.


CENTPAC

Pensacola and Luisville are lurking around Gilberts. KB is retireing W from Pearl while some ships were sighted NW of Midway it may be the replenishemnt TF

9th December


Malaya

Kota Bahru Fell[:(] But strangly one of the brigades that surrendered every time i lose it didn't so i have some additional troops.
AVG squadron intercepted Sally Bombers hitting my troops relocating from Alor Star and downed around 15 of them. Tommorow
all avaliable TB with AVG escort will hit enemy shipping off Kota Bahru. Force Z was able to reach Singapore. Repulse was send into the Shipyard while POW will be pathed up and send to Cape Town.


Philippines

Japanese landed in Laong and Appari. Strikes by B-17's didn't do any damage. So i think i will set them to Airfield or Ground attack.
Troops are moving to pre planed positions. Some enemy transports were spotted SE of Luzon... i wonder where they will land. Few sub attacks but those were without results. Some AKL fleeing Hong Kong were intercepted and sunk by Jap TB's in revange Brit DD's sunk one TB and damaged another.


DEI

Heavy Sub activity between Sumatra and Borneo so i will need to send some ASW TF's to hunt them.

CENTPAC

Vindicators from Midway attacked enemy DD TF SE of the Island KB is also in the Area. I need to get my CV's to safty. In Gilberts CA Luisville intercepted enemy convoy sinking 3 enemy ships[:D] 41st Division is now attached to (R) command so it can't go to Numaea. So will send one of the Regiments from SF and a Marine Rgt there. Another Rgt will go to Pago-Pago while Marine Def Bn to Canton.

10th December 1941

Malaya

Attack with Torpedo planes with AVG escort on enemy ships off Kota Bahru enjoyed some succes! 2 AVG planes were lost in the initial air combat and 6 torpedo planed to A2A and AAA but i put a fish into both BC Kongo and AK Sakura Maru. Take that Tree[:D] but something strange happend and one of the Vildebeest squadrons got lost and arrived after the 1st attack[:(] it lost 9 planes to enemy fighters the sole survivor turned back. Now i rebased 2 Buffalo Squadrons out of Singapore and i will sweep the skies over Kota Bahru[;)] Other two Squadrons are guarding Singapore. Also AVG is resting in Singapore now.

Philippines

Enemy planes attacked Manila i lost 4 P-40's and 1 P-35 but downed 5 Zeros and 5 Betty bombers. Enemy landing in Northern Luzon Continues B-17's were orderd to bomb enemy troops[;)] One of my subs sunk a subchaser near Laong

11th-14th December

Malaya

Allied troops have succesfouly evacuated Alor Star. It happend in the nick of time as japs are already at the base[;)] Enemy Fighters are attacking my northern airfields i will try to set a trap for them in a day or two and also repeat my torpedo attack on Kota Bahru. Today enemy fighters sweept Singapore and downed 5 or 6 alied fighters for 1 Zero but then i got Lucky Sally formation showed up unescorted and my brave pilots downed around 20 planes[&o][&o]. PoW and Repulse were pathed up and will sail out of Singapore tomorrow. First to Batavia then they will split up one to Colombo other to Aden for extensive repairs. DD's will remain in DEI after they will pass Sunda strait. There are unexpected reinforcements coming in... a Convoy carrying 45th and 46th Indian Brigades was supposed to go to Rangoon but its 3 days off Sunda strait so i will send some DD's as escorts and will send them to Singapore. At least this may slow down the Japs[:)] RAF bombers are attacking enemy ground forces moving around slowing them down[:)] so maybe i will also send 18th Division to Singapore.

DEI

Enemy subs are still active between Borneo and Sumatra i send some DD's to patrol the area but they did not find anything yet... Miri got Invaded and Dutch bombers out of Tarakan tryed to do some damage to enemy shipping but they did not hit anything. Ternate was invaded and caprtured but now i have a small CL task force moving in maybe they can hit enemy ships. Jolo was sized by enemy but i was able to send in the US cruiser task force to bombard it[:)] Evacuation of Fuel continues.

Philippines

Enemy forces are moving south and are about to attack my first line of defense. B-17's are bombing Appari and Vigan. Enemy also made landings in the southern Luzon i probably need to start my winthrawal to Manila[:(] My fighters were sent on a LR CAP over Clark i hope to capture some undefended bombers. My subs are not so active like in last game[:(]

China

3 Japanese divisions are making a push on Changsha i will try to isolate them.

Pacific

Australian reinforcements are send to Port Morseby. Rabaul and Kaving are evacuated. BB's damaged in PH attack are being patched up for a jurney to West Cost.

DEI

Ternate raid was a succes enemy TF was anihilated by joint US/Dutch forces[;)] Also some enemy ships were spotted off Jolo so US forces were dispathed from Belikapapan to intercept[;)]

Malaya

Alor Star was taken by japanese. Enemy TF spoted of Kuantan so torpedo planes were send in an effort to hit it tomorrow.

Philippines

Large Air battle over Clark US lost 8 Fighters but i was able to down around 10 Zeros and some Bettys[;)] Enemy forces still advancing on my position.

16th December 1941

Malaya

Japanese Forces have invaded Kuantan!!!! And intel tells me that 3/113th Infantry Regiment is loaded on transport and sailing to Mersing[X(][X(][X(] But no panic Damaged ships of Force Z sailed from Singapore today. And 2 Australian Brigades were ordered to Mersing. My Evacuation of Taiping and Telmouch need's to be speed up. 3 Minelayers were ordered to lay a minefield in Mersing i hope 230 Mines will do some damage to the invading Japs. Also a convoy carrying 2 Indian Brigades will randevous with its escort on the W side of Sunda Strait tomorrow and will procede to Singapore at Flank Speed! I also hope this time my torpedo planes will attack enemy ships as bad weather prevented any flight ops out of Kuala Lumpur.

DEI

Enemy forces are reported to be sailing in to Invade Sinkawang. US Cruisers will hit enemy ships off Jolo tomorrow and maybe bombard the base.
