Draft

Post by evwalt »

I am trying to figure out if this is a game bug or not.

In Danish Too PBEM, I am playing Denmark. As I understand it, Men are only drafted into the Training Pool if the "Training & Draft Pool Target Size" is not met. In other words, if the men in the Training Pool + the men in the Draft Pool are LESS than the "Target Size" mentioned above, a Man is drafted from the province.

Is the above correct? Denmark appears to be drafting men from the provinces if the TRAINING POOL number ONLY is less than the "Target Size."

I had 9505 in the Training Pool and 6323 in the Draft Pool, for a total of 15828. Yet, I then DRAFTED another Man from the provinces. Does this sound wrong to anyone else?

Also, what happens if I turn OFF the draft (ie. lower Draft Size to '0'). Will I lose the people currently in "the system" (ie. the current Training and Draft Pools) or simply not recruit any more?

Well, to answer my own question, I tested the "what happens when you lower the draft level" to 0 on single player.

I appears that 1) everyone in the Draft Pool moves to the Training Pool and 2) no one is trained (ie. there is no movement to the draft pool). You do NOT appear to lose the men already in the system.

If you increase the draft level above 0, everything appears to function normally again.

Good information, althought it is hard to imagine ever wanting to lower Draft to zero. Even making small normal marches around your country will result in losses that will need to be replaced.
