Painfully slow map scroll

Post by Mammou »

Hi,

Just picked up the game last night and I have a bit of an issue. During the orders phase the map scroll is very slow. Even with the scroll speed preference set to its lowest, it takes about 2-3 seconds to move the map 1 "notch". The same delay is there when using the mini-map to jump.

Game loading is not a problem, and turn resolution seems OK. I have not had the old WitP on this machine, but the new WitPAE takes about as long to process as the old game did on the old machine -which I took to mean that more was going on under the hood.

WinXP Home
Core 2 Duo E8400 3.0GHz
2GB Ram
ATI 4850 video card

Updated the video driver for no change.

Any help or suggestions would be very welcome.

Cheers

I would try using the -dd_sw command line switch to see if it will correct your problem.

Set "Map scroll delay" in the game options to 1 or 2.

Hi all,

The switch with the stock game did not seem to do anything, but when I used the beta patch with the same switch it was perfect.

Thanks for everyone's help and suggestions

Cheers
