Aircraft withdrawals

Post by hbrsvl »

Hi-I'm having a problem with this. Example:

Date-Jan.8,42.
Withdrawal date-by Jan.15, 42.
Unit-1 plane in a BS at Fresno. B-18.

The "withdraw by..." is in orange. The withdraw is grayed out. Only Disband is yellow. But when I hit Disband, it states" permanently lose planes & pilots."

There are several units like this at Fresno. I don't want to "permanently lose" all of them. I also don't want to lose PPs for non-withdrawal. I've also seen some units with withdrawal in red.

Vas gibs?

Thanks, Hugh Browne

One of the guys in the know said that if you can't withdraw the unit, disband it.  Same effect.  You're going to lose them one way or the other.

See last paragraph of rule 7.2.2 on page 169 - you have no choice but loose them - or pay PPs.

I haven't found yet what the different colours signify (red / orange)

I had the same problem, I disbanded and there are no more PP penalization... In fact I am thinking in disbanding instead of withdrawing all groups so I keep the pilots [8|] , btw if you need PP (as I do after running out of them thinking air units would withdraw for themselves) withdraw units in no-frontline areas previously to the date  and it will grant you a few PP

ORIGINAL: P.Hausser

What does Red Color indicate on it?

Pg 147
"base. If no group is available, the group’s planes may be disbanded into the aircraft pool if within reach of the group’s Home Base. If not, the group may still be disbanded but the aircraft will be lost. The text “Disband Group” will be in RED to indicate that the aircraft are lost."

More on colors... In air groups lists some groups have his number of aircraft (all his line except the number in fact) greyed, I can't find what this means, any idea?
