Help! v 4.4 has screwed up my sounds!

Post by Fabs »

Since upgrading to v 4.4 my sounds are not playing. I get a few of them, but many simply don't play. What's wrong?

Try reinstalling SPWAW from scratch. Maybe that will clear up the sound issues. I don't have the sound problems you describe so I know it's not SPWAW.

I don't know if it was just a random event but I didn't get any sound when infantry fired smoke.

Have similar probs with 4.3, sometimes the sound goes AWOL, but it's back when the next unit fires. I suspect it's a timing problem with the hardware as I sometimes also get these ticks in some sound effects, like a CD missing a beat.

Fabs, remembered to check the installation path? Image

Zarquon, those occasionally missing sounds have been around from day one of Steel Panthers (Now might that be a new way measure time? Before/after SP1/SPWAW? Image )

I dunno what causes them but they seem to occur most often in close combat and assaults. Minor nuisance I'd say.
