Loosing a lot of pilots each turn....

Post by wild_Willie2 »

Hi there.

On Saratoga in Pearl I have set my fighters of VF 3 to general training/ stand down, but each turn I loose 8 pilots!.

I can add up to 48 pilots to VF3, but after I execute the turn I loose 9 and the number ofpilots goes back to 39..

repeatable save attached.

I hope you can quickly fix this nasty bug

running 1083...

I believe the pilots are going back into the pool.  There is some code that will take extra pilots out of units and put them in the pool.  this is a preventative to stop units from ending up with gobs of pilots.

I didn't think you could.
I still have to check this out.

But there are 9 pilots in the VF-3 reserve list

Was this something added in the Beta Patch or starts happening after, say, mid-Jan '42?  I'm running non-patched and at mid-Jan'42 & still have several CV (as well as landbased) air units with 30-40+ pilots.  As an example, I had Enterprise disbanded @ PH for repairs from the third week of Dec '41 to about 8 Jan '42 (now she's in an TF docked @ PH) but she still has 43 pilots assigned to VF-6.

Patch did not affect anything here, but the problem seems that there are a lot more pilots in the group then should be allowed.
Possible that the re-size could affect it but only if the group downsized.

The pilots are not being 'lost', rather being put back into the pilot reserve. Most likely still under the same group but possibly with some delay period before becoming available again.

This problem seems to be isolated to pilots in the group who have been MIA/KIA. They are still being counted as active pilots for selection purposes.
In the case of this group, it thinks there is more pilots in the group than is the case. So it releases them back to the pool not releasing the excess are really KIA/MIA guys.
