odd retirement

Post by buchanan_jm »

I finished my 1939 season and started the off-season and noticed one odd retirement: Preacher Roe. I drafted Preacher Roe in 1938 and put him in A ball. So after 2 years in the minors he retired. I didn't notice that he retired because of injury, and I can't call back up his player card to double check (the retirement list truncates, and he's not on what's offered). Also, because he was in the minors for 2 years, he isn't in my team's history or the almanac--unless I'm not looking in the right place. I know he still has a few years before he makes the majors in "real life," but I don't understand the retirement.

So, is there a way to unretire him? Is there a way to access his player card?

I'm also still having an issue with salary scale. I finished my '39 season. Players signed after the mid point of '38 are signed in time period appropriate dollars; players signed before then and teams' salary caps are in today's dollars. It's odd; every time is well below the cap because of the difference.

To access his player card, you can go to that team's transaction page, or to that team's draft history. I believe both places provide links to get to the cards. Once there, you can check transactions for any career-ending injury.

Irregardless, you'll have to "re-import" him (if you check the box allowing multiples of the same player). There is no way to un-retire him that I'm aware of.

I did access his player card from the draft history link; it just said retired after 2 year career--2 year minor league career that is. I don't really understand why he retired, but oh well.

Still have two salary scales working in my assoc. Is there any way to get back to the original set up pages in an assoc? I'm wondering, for instance, ifyou can adjust the salary cap level or realign the divisions or turn financials off, etc.
